The best beloved of all things, justice.
With it I can see with my own eyes.
Discern the most important among us.
The truth exalt, and lies despise.
Repeating the refrain, let us reprise
That justice, among the beloved is best.
So let it come as no surprise
I focus on justice, less on the rest.
With rewards, let our talents be harnessed.
The strongest among us will surely prevail.
Be just, firm and unwavering, lest
The weakness of some cause us to fail.
Still, who’s to say who’s on first?
Justice alone, without mercy, might be worst.
