DeKalb Tech is no more

(Unfinished. The third quatrain should perhaps refer to school board supervisor of 1947-1975 (name?) and the director president who died in 2004 (name?), and foreshadow the renaming.)

Have you heard? DeKalb Tech is no more.
It's demise witnessed by a well-informed few.
At age fifty it is gone, now but lore.
What of the halls were talents once grew?

Set in a land named for the grandfather of a tyrant king,
freed by his namesake, a Virginia planter's toil,
and by the dream speech that another let ring,
who called from the mountain top to this fertile soil.

No hardship or doubt can ever daunt
A future of dreams at Georgia Piedmont.
